$15.2M sale of South Perth apartment breaks Perth price record PERTH’S apartment price record has been smashed following the sale of an uber-exclusive $15.2 million piece of real estate in South Perth.

At $35,000 per square metre, unit 3 of 93 South Perth Esplanade is part of a private complex of just four absolute riverfront apartments, which are going down in the record books as Perth’s most expensive.

The third-floor apartment – with its three living rooms, wine cellar and expansive four-car garage – was purchased earlier this year by a leading Perth businessman in education and energy provision, and his wife.

Real estate agent Mal Dempsey, who owns the penthouse in the building and was one of four syndicate members involved in the development of the complex, said exclusivity had driven the apartment’s price tag.

“Everything about these apartments is desirable,” Mr Dempsey said.

“There aren’t too many people who can afford a $15 million apartment, so it’s attracting a very elite class of successful business people.”

Unit 2 of the same building is now set to come on the market and Mr Dempsey is predicting it could fetch even more.

“The syndicate owners of number 2 spent a lot of time on the finishing’s,” he said.

With more 600sqm of space, unit 2 also features four ensuite bedrooms, three separate living areas, a wine cellar, four-car garage and a library.

The complex includes resort facilities such as a heated swimming pool, spa, gym, massage room and a steam room.

Completed in June of this year, Mr Dempsey said the 30m frontage and select Swan River location of the record-beating complex were unparalleled.
